He has survived three separate kidnappings which developed an extremely strong psychological and mental resilience which he shares with people through his training courses and well-attended speaking engagements.

Simon delivers a compilation of keynote, motivational and inspirational talks for a wide variety of clients, internationally. He provided voluntary charitable services in mental health for the serving UK Military, Veterans and all Uniformed Services and did this through the charity he cofounded called Icarus in 2017. He moved on in 2021 to continue his work in other areas outside the niche of veterans.

Simon developed a therapeutic treatment process between 2007 – 2010 to help people overcome stress and trauma called The Immediate Care Process, which later expanded and became The Somato-Limbic Metacognitive Process (SLM Process) that builds emotional and psychological resilience and reprocesses problematic memories. A clinical record Review was conducted in 2019 by Emeritus Professor David Alexander of 100 people that indicated an 88% improvement.

Simon has Developed and refined this process over 15 years, with over 3,000 individuals trained and 11 million lives positively touched.

Simon published a book on his work that developed the Immediate Care Process in 2021, this is available through amazon. I deliver my work in the UK, North, South & Central America, Europe and Southeast Asia.

In 2022 Simon was nominated as a finalist in the Scottish Ex-Forces in Business Awards and in 2023 as a finalist for the Soldiering On Awards.

His main focus is in advancing mental health access and provision in the UK and he aims to achieve this by teaching the process of self-regulation that he developed and to have this integrated as the first step in the process of mental health treatment.
